Stainless Steel Braais
10 productsChoosing a stainless steel braai
Stainless steel braais are built for the Cape coast. Salt air quickly rusts painted mild steel, so homes in Blouberg, Melkbosstrand, Big Bay, Hout Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard and the West Coast get far longer life from stainless.
Pick the grade for your exposure. 430 grade stainless is a good value choice for covered patios that are not hit directly by sea spray. 304 marine-grade stainless resists corrosion best and is the choice for exposed or seafront positions. Wipe stainless down after use and avoid steel-wool scourers.
Built-in stainless braais come in widths from 800 mm to 1500 mm and usually include a flue kit. Prices on this site start at R11,498 incl. VAT.
Standard single-storey braai installation in Cape Town is R5,500 incl. VAT, and we can add a matching stainless canopy or extractor fan. We install within 200 km of Cape Town — the City, Northern and Southern Suburbs, the Cape Winelands, Overberg and West Coast — and courier anywhere in South Africa.
Before ordering, note how close the braai sits to the sea, whether rain or spray reaches it and how high the patio roof is. Send us photos of the position and the opening size, and we will recommend the right grade and confirm the flue lengths and installation price before you pay.
Progress Group has supplied and installed fireplaces, braais and heating in the Western Cape since 1990. Visit our Bellville showroom to see units in person, or send us photos and measurements of your space for a free written quote. We confirm stock, delivery dates and every installation cost before you pay, so there are no surprises on the day.
Frequently asked questions
304 or 430 stainless steel?
430 is good value for covered patios. 304 marine grade is best for exposed or seafront homes where salt spray reaches the braai.
Will a stainless steel braai rust?
It resists rust far better than mild steel. Light surface marks near the sea wipe off; regular cleaning keeps it bright.
How much does installation cost?
Standard single-storey fireplace or braai installation inside Cape Town is R5,500 incl. VAT, and double-storey installation is R8,000. Travel is added beyond Cape Town, and outside our 200 km install area we courier the unit to you.
Do you deliver outside Cape Town?
Yes. We install within 200 km of Cape Town and courier anywhere in South Africa. Stock items usually leave our Bellville showroom within days; allow about two weeks if a model is not in stock.
