Built-In Steel Braais in Cape Town

A built-in braai is set into a brick or cladded surround on the patio, with a flue that carries smoke up and away from your guests. Our mild-steel range from Lava Fires is the affordable way to get a proper built-in braai, in widths from 800 mm to 1500 mm, with De Lux and Prestige door styles.

Measure the opening before you order: width, height and depth, plus the position of the roof above. Most models include a 2.4 m flue kit and cowl. Under a higher patio roof or a double-storey wall, extra flue lengths are needed.

Mild steel is ideal for covered, inland patios. In coastal suburbs, or where rain reaches the braai, consider our stainless steel braais instead. Prices start at R7,530 incl. VAT.

Standard single-storey built-in braai installation in Cape Town is R5,500 incl. VAT. A canopy or extractor fan helps in enclosed entertainment areas. We install within 200 km of Cape Town — the City, Northern and Southern Suburbs, the Cape Winelands, Overberg and West Coast — and courier anywhere in South Africa.

Before ordering, take photos of the braai position, the roof above it and the wall behind it, and note the opening size. We use these to confirm the flue route, any extra flue lengths and the installation price, so you know the full cost upfront.
