FAQ

Fireplace questions from the Western Cape customers.

Where is your fireplace showroom in the Western Cape?+

Our showroom is at 189 Durban Rd, Bellville, Western Cape — about 20 minutes from Cape Town CBD and central to the Winelands, West Coast and Helderberg. You can see closed combustion, gas, wood and pellet fireplaces burning in person before you buy.

How far do you travel for fireplace installations?+

We install throughout the Western Cape — roughly a 300 km radius from Bellville. That covers Cape Town, Durbanville, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, Hermanus, Worcester, Robertson, Montagu, Langebaan and Saldanha. Delivery-only is available nationwide on selected products.

How much does a fireplace cost in the Western Cape?+

Freestanding wood fireplaces start from around R11 000, closed combustion units from R16 500 with a flue kit, and premium gas or pellet fireplaces range from R25 000 to R60 000+ depending on kW output and finish. Standard installation is R5 500 for single storey and R7 500 for double storey, with optional add-ons billed separately.

Which fireplace suits Western Cape winters?+

Cape winters are wet and windy rather than deeply cold, so most homes are best served by a closed combustion unit sized 8–12 kW for open-plan living, or a direct-vent gas fireplace for instant heat without wood storage. Coastal homes get stainless flue components to resist salt air; inland Winelands and Breede Valley homes usually need higher output.

Do you issue a certificate for gas fireplaces?+

Yes. Every fixed gas installation includes a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from a registered gas installer, which your insurer and future buyers will ask for. Wood and pellet installs are done to SANS 10400 and SANS 827 flue standards.

Can I get a quote without a site visit?+

Yes. Send us photos of the wall or corner, the room dimensions and the roof type on WhatsApp and we'll quote the unit, flue kit and installation. For anything structural we prefer a free on-site measure-up first.
