FAQ
Fireplace questions from the Cape Winelands customers.
Do you install fireplaces in Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek?+
Yes. We install across the entire Cape Winelands — Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, Wellington, Somerset West and the surrounding wine farms. Our teams handle heritage homes, wine estates and new-build residential with SANS-compliant flues.
Can you install a fireplace in a heritage or Cape Dutch home?+
Yes — much of the Winelands is heritage-sensitive. We spec low-profile closed combustion or gas inserts that fit existing hearths, twin-wall flues that route through thatch and slate safely, and heritage-friendly finishes. We work with your architect where needed.
Which fireplace is best for a Winelands winter?+
Winelands winters are cold with heavy overnight frost in valleys like Franschhoek. A 10–14 kW closed combustion fireplace is the sweet spot: enough heat for open-plan farm-style living rooms, low wood use, and clean burning that keeps chimneys clear on frosty mornings.
How much does a fireplace cost in the Winelands?+
Freestanding wood fireplaces start from around R11,000 incl. VAT, closed combustion inserts from R16,500 incl. VAT with flue kit, and premium gas or pellet units range from R25,000 to R60,000+. Estate and heritage installs are quoted on site.
How far is your showroom from Stellenbosch?+
Our Bellville showroom is roughly 35 km / 30 minutes from Stellenbosch, 45 km from Paarl and 65 km from Franschhoek. On-site quotations across the Winelands are free.
